In
most cases you will be sent an appointment letter
by post.
We
require patients to arrive at least 30 minutes before
their examination. It is important that
patients inform us well in advance (at least three
working days) of any cancellation. Patient doses
and appointment times are not always flexible due
to the nature of the test.
Patients will be contacted well before their examination to confirm their appointment.and
at that time you will be asked a few questions about your medical history.
You
will be asked to fill out and sign a form. It
is important to answer these questions accurately.
It will assist our Doctors to report the PET/CT scan.
You
will be asked to remove any loose metal objects,
credit cards and watches. Patients will need to change
into a gown. This is mainly to ensure there are no
metal items such as zips buttons etc. that may impair
scan quality.
Your
belongings will be kept safely.
The
radiographer will take you into the scan room and
perform the scan.
After your scan you will be offered something to drink and are free to go home.
