MRI
is used widely to investigate neurological diseases/conditions
such as multiple sclerosis, infections, dementia, epilepsy,
stroke and tumours.
The nerves leading to the ears and the eyes can be seen as well as the pituitary
gland which controls the production of several hormones.
Brain
scan patients must be able to lie
fairly flat on their back during
the procedure.
Scan
times may vary depending upon
the individual case.
