Unlike
many other diagnostic medical procedures, MRI needs
a minimum of patient preparation.
You may normally eat, drink and continue to take any medication prior to your
MRI scan unless otherwise advised by us.
Certain
MRI procedures do require dietary preparation,
so it is important that you read the instructions sent
to you with your appointment literature.
As
a rule of thumb you will certainly not need any dietary
preparation for MRI scans on joints such as the knee,
shoulder hip etc. or scans of the spine, brain, breast
or heart.
If
in doubt please contact
the centre for advice.
