Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive method of acquiring diagnostic images of the human body, painlessly and with great precision.

MRI uses a magnetic field and radio frequency pulses. It does not involve the use of X-rays.

If you would like to know a little more about having an MRI scan choose a topic on the left for answers to some of our patients frequently asked questions. Remember, if you have a specific query - particularly about safety aspects of the scan - you can call your local centre for advice.

If you are currently in need of a scan (perhaps on a waiting list) and would like to discuss a private scan, please use our enquiry service.
